I’m engaged

[Feels a little funny to write a blog post about this, but such is life in the modern age, I suppose!]
Molly and I are getting married!
We’ve haven’t set the date just yet, but are planning on late September or early October. More details soon. We’re very excited.
There are those who thought it would never happen, but, as I’m discovering, not too many who thought it shouldn’t.

Congratulations to you both, I’m not sure who’s the luckiest of the two of you.
My (all too) brief impression of Molly was that you both fit really well together, so this makes me happy.

There’s nothing wrong with blogging your engagement. Heck some of us blog the whole dang thing!
My advice: don’t do anything that doesn’t mean something to YOU. Rings and cake and all that jazz are only symbols because we say they are.

I’m not sure if we are going to whip out a whole website. But it’s nice to have a great open-source model to repurpose if we do. (My colleague Andrew, who got married right about the same time as you, did http://www.andrewandsarah.net, so I guess I have lots of ideas to remix!)
Well, you could do it the old fashioned way … when I was your age, we didnt’ know nothing about no wedding web sites. I think Ruby’s advice is good .. My husband and I (now 20 years married) did what was meaningful to us … it works.
